X-Men: Dark Phoenix Director Simon Kinberg Gets Set Visit From Minka Kelly

Simon Kinberg just had a high-profile visitor on the set of his new X-Men movie Dark Phoenix. The director revealed that Titans actress Minka Kelly paid him a visit while he was working on his highly anticipated film.

Kinberg has been hard at work on the new movie that will focus on Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) as she loses control of her powers and becomes the Phoenix. Nevertheless, he still has time to accept visitors on the film set. Kelly's visit even drew a few chuckles as Kinberg showed off their matching outfits on his official Instagram account. Take a look at the picture below.

Although some are probably hoping that the former Almost Human star will have a role in Dark Phoenix, it's safe to say that Kelly is simply taking pointers from Kinberg. The "directing shadow" comment suggests that the Friday Night Lights actress is learning how to direct films by observing Kinberg. Kelly had a similar post on her own Instagram that had the hashtag #ShadowDirector.

It would be awesome to see Kelly as a powerful mutant but we'll have to settle for her becoming a different kind of comic book superhero. Kelly will appear in Titans as Dawn Granger a.k.a Dove alongside Alan Ritchson's Hank Hall/Hawk.

The new X-Men film will bring back Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, and Olivia Munn. IT actress Jessica Chastain has also been confirmed as the new villain.

Dark Phoenix is scheduled for release on February 14, 2019.
