X-Men: Apocalypse’s Jennifer Lawrence Shares Humiliating Encounter With Star Wars’ Harrison Ford

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today. She's won an Oscar and has appeared in numerous film franchises, blockbuster hits, and even tons of magazine covers. It would be impossible to not recognize her anywhere.

Surprisingly though, there's a veteran actor and a big director in the industry who didn't recognize the 25-year-old actress while she was out with British comedian Jack Whitehall – Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Harrison Ford and director J.J. Abrams.

In an interview with Graham Norton on his U.K. BBC chat show on Friday (via People), Lawrence recalled her humiliating experience:

I probably humiliated myself more than ever before. I never assume anyone knows who I am, but when I spotted Harrison Ford and J.J. Abrams I was like, ‘It'll be fine, we're all co-workers, right?'
So I went up to them and started dancing like an idiot and the whole table just went quiet and stared at me. I realized while I am dancing that they had absolutely no idea who I was so I just turned around and walked back to Jack dying of embarrassment.

Then something even more humiliating happened. Ford recognized Lawrence's friend, Whitehall, who told Norton:

The funny thing was I had just done this show with Harrison and he is the only A-list Hollywood star I'd met. Jen had just been blanked and I was like, ‘Hey, it's all right, I'll go and say hi to Harrison.' And literally as I walked over he stood up and shouted, ‘Hey, Jack!' " It was so funny. It was probably the best night of my life and Jen's worst!

Lawrence added that Ford later wrote to her "because someone with a 12-year-old must have told him who I was!"

Well, at least Ford knew who she was, just not by face.

Lawrence will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, set for release on May 27. She will also appear in the upcoming sci-fi movie, Passengers, on December 21. She will be joined by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Chris Pratt.

Meanwhile, fans are hoping Ford to be in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens sequel, Star Wars: Episode VIII, to hit theaters on December 15, 2017. The actor did tease his possible appearance in future Star Wars films, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
