WWE Teams Up With Netflix for Family-Friendly Film 'The Main Event'

You'd think that with the WWE Network being a thing that we would never see Vince McMahon's billion dollar company team up with Netflix but as Booker T and Goldust have proven, strange bedfellows can lead to success. Somehow, someway, Netflix has decided to team with WWE to make a new family-friendly film called The Main Event and will have several stars from Raw and SmackDown Live.

According to The Wrap, a kid finds a magical mask that transforms him into a wrestler. With this, he decides to enter a competition to become the next WWE superstar. It doesn't sound like a big Oscar-worthy movie or anything like that but it could still be fun, assuming that they get talented people to work on the script and set.

WWE superstars confirmed to star in the film include current WWE Champion and New Day member Kofi Kingston, The Miz, who has starred in a number of WWE films, and Sheamus, who hasn't appeared in the ring since the night after WrestleMania 35. Those are some big superstars and it will be interesting to see them act in a movie, so let's hope that they do well.

No release date for The Main Event has been released but this should be one to watch for WWE fans.
