Wonder Woman 1984: When Chris Pine Learned About Steve Trevor's Return

Fans were utterly shocked when it was announced that Chris Pine would be returning as Steve Trevor for 2020's Wonder Woman 1984. Pine was one of the better actors in the movie and a lot of people were moved by his character's death since it was heroic and his final moment with Diana was kind of sweet. Having him return to the sequel has caused some controversy and fans are now skeptical of the movie.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, the actor revealed that he knew Trevor was returning while the first movie was being made, saying that director Patty Jenkins had pitched it to him whilst Wonder Woman was filming. Pine mentions how infectious Jenkins' ideas can be since you can see how this pitch materialized, which is a huge compliment.

How this results in Trevor's eventual resurrection remains to be seen, as many of us are still skeptical about this move. Pine didn't say how the character would be coming to life since you have to save it for the movie, but it is getting everyone's attention, for better or worse. Here is hoping that it's done for the better and people like it, just like how everyone enjoyed the Winter Soldier's return.

The sequel to last year's Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman 1984 will be set during the Cold War. It should be another fascinating period piece, especially with iconic villain Cheetah making her live-action debut.

Wonder Woman 1984 comes out on June 5, 2020.
