When Kristen Wiig was cast as Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah for Wonder Woman: 1984, fans did not know how to feel. Though the actress has proven herself in various comedies, no one expected to see her as one of the Amazon's fiercest villains. As fans anticipate seeing her turn into Cheetah, director Patty Jenkins has revealed what she will look like before the transformation.
Jenkins shares a picture of Wiig's Minerva inside what appears to be a museum or store filled with animal mannequins. This is actually pretty fitting since she will become Cheetah and this image does tease that very well, though we will have to see how the movie handles it. If they aren't careful, it could end up looking pretty bad.
Cheetah is actually Wonder Woman's most popular villain. She's not only appeared in the Justice League cartoon but is also playable in Injustice 2. Maybe it's her design or most people's fascination with women/cat hybrids but she is semi-popular.
There is plenty of intrigue surrounding Wonder Woman 1984, from how Wiig will look like as Cheetah, to how Chris Pine's Steve Trevor is integrated into the plot. It seems like he died at the end of the first movie but this is based on a comic book, so we'll see what happens. If they have him survive somehow, expect more Captain America comparisons.
