Wolverine Star Hugh Jackman Gets Bashed for Sharing Alleged Pro-Police Propaganda

I think it goes without saying that things have gotten extremely out of hand when it comes to the state of the US. The country was in the middle of battling COVID-19 when last week protests were breaking out all over the country because of police brutality. Several celebrities have been using their platform to spread the #BlackLivesMatter message, but X-Men star Hugh Jackman seems to have gotten some flak for sharing what is said to be pro-police propaganda.

Jackman had shared this post of a police officer hugging a black citizen:

Though the message was wholesome enough, some people online are coming out to criticize Jackman for not helping with the #BLM movement. If anything, he's unwittingly sharing some pro-police propaganda, which is the exact opposite message that people are trying to get across. Here are some replies:

Even Wolverine writer Tom Taylor is trying to point out Jackman's flaw.

For now, the post still remains up and Jackman hasn't done anything to take it down. Personally, I think the intent behind the tweet is a wholesome one, but seeing as police brutality is still pretty much the reality, posts like this don't really help tell the message that everyone is trying to get across; if anything, it negates it.

We don't know how long these protests are going to go for, but hopefully, something gets done soon because we still have a global pandemic to handle.
