With a 7.17/10 rating on MyAnimeList, the anime does have a fanbase, though it isn't the winter 2024 season's most popular series.
Moreover, Yokohama Animation Lab, the studio producing the series, doesn't have a huge portfolio of works yet, nor a track record of producing sequels.
The one exception is Tawawa on Monday 2, whose first season was the work of another studio, PINE JAM.
This isn't definitive proof that The Witch and the Beast season 2 is impossible, as its studio is still growing. Alternatively, another studio could pick it up.
