Last month, Wizards of the Coast announced a fun Magic: The Gathering community contest for filmmakers. The Theros International Film Festival asked fans to submit their 15-second videos with the creative prompt of "escape your fate" - a theme that reminds us of how Elspeth escaped her fate from the Underworld of Theros in the Theros Beyond Death storyline.
Today, Wizards of the Coast has announced the winners of the Theros International Film Festival on their Instagram page in their story, and the Grand Prize a black-and-white short featuring a Gingerbread character trying to escape its fate with the message "I wanna hold you so much".
The first runner-up went to Rob Marrocco's video featuring a wizard being interrupted by his mother. Too bad he can't escape his fate! Watch the video below:

The third runner-up features a warrior turning his greatest fear into his companion.
The top four winners will each receive one of the four Ashiok statues made by community artist Miss Monster Mel, and a total of ten winners will be named Official Selections for the Theros International Film Festival. Once all ten winners are chosen, they will be shared on the official MTG Instagram account as their official selections to the world. The Top 4 winners will also win a full foil set of Theros Beyond Death, a sealed booster box of Theros Beyond Death, ten Theros Beyond Death Collector Boosters, and ten codes that can be redeemed for Theros Beyond Death booster packs on Magic Arena.
The other six winners in the Top 10 will each receive one foil set of Theros Beyond Death, a sealed booster box of Theros Beyond Death, five Theros Beyond Death Collector Boosters, and five codes that can be redeemed for Theros Beyond Death booster packs on Magic Arena.
According to the official rules, each of the four Ashiok statues is worth $400 USD. The film type for the video submissions should be MP4 or MOV.
Congratulations to all the winners!
