I think we can all agree that Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the best things to ever come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's divisive Multiverse Saga and despite the film feeling like a nostalgia grab, it's still a pretty solid comic book flick overall.

However, many have criticized the sloppy VFX work in the film and it turns out, even Willem Dafoe, who made his triumphant return as Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin wasn't exactly pleased with how his appearance turned out. In fact, during a recent interview, the 67-year-old actor admitted that the film's CGI was subpar.

Participating in WIRED's autocomplete interview, the screen icon didn't mince his words when it came to the MCU blockbuster's de-aging technology. When asked if he was de-aged for No Way Home, Dafoe criticized the film's CGI, saying: "No, I don’t think so. Yeah, there was a couple of shots that were really fuzzy. I thought it was silly, because the de-aging thing, they don’t have down yet. And what’s the point? I don’t look that much older, I don’t think, anyway. It’s the creams."

Still, Dafoe is always down to return as Green Goblin in the MCU and according to him, as long as the story feels right, he'd gladly reprise the now-iconic part.

Marvel Studios' recent CGI issues are no longer a secret and many have pointed out the decline in quality when the franchise kickstarted Phase Four. VFX artists have also exposed the studio's harsh practices and it's definitely something Disney must improve on.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is available to stream on Netflix.
