Who Is Will Serfort in Wistoria: Wand and Sword?
Will Serfort is the main protagonist of the Wistoria: Wand and Sword fantasy anime. He aspires to become one of the Magia Vanders, the highest title given to the strongest mages in the world.
The problem is that Will can’t use magic and has been relying on his physical abilities to earn extra credits and stay in a prestigious magic school.
Will’s inability to use magic allowed other students such as Sion and even his professors to ostracize him.
After all, they worship magic as the best thing that ever happened in their world, and those who can’t use it are considered worthless.
Will refuses to give up on his dreams of one day ascending as one of the Magia Vanders and staying with Elfaria Alvis Serholt, also known as the Secluded Ice Princess of the five Magia Vanders and Will’s childhood friend.
Will Will Serfort Ever Learn Magic in Wistoria: Wand and Sword?
As of writing, Will has yet to use and/or cast magic in the Wistoria: Wand and Sword manga, but he has a unique ability known as Wis, which helps him repel magic spells with his sword.
This unique ability allows Will to absorb magic spells and release them onto his sword, converting it into a magic sword in the process.
He uses this magic sword to keep up with mages and complement his superhuman strength and physical combat abilities.
However, Will can only use Wis for 50 minutes at the most, making it difficult and stressful not only for Will’s mind but also for his body when he’s in this state.
He has yet to prolong this state, but there’s a possibility he could take it to another level as the plot unfolds.
While Will can’t use or cast magic like the other characters in the series, his body hoards magic but is unable to release it normally, resulting in his poor magic skills.
This could be the reason Will couldn’t cast magic at all, no matter how hard he tried to use it in the series.
