Just a few days after the release of the game, an anime series adaptation of it, produced by Sunrise, made its debut.
Scarlet Nexus follows the story of an alternate future where humanity found a way to develop technology and made a society based on the different substances which could be found in the human brain, giving people extrasensory abilities. An organization was formed, the Other Suppression Force (OSF), to protect humanity from the mindless mutants from Extinction Belt, and they recruit members having supernatural abilities to do this.
The series is directed by Hiroyuki Nishimura, written by Yōichi Katō, Toshizo Nemoto, and Akiko Inoue, characters designed by Nishimura and Yuji Ito, music composed by Hironori Anazawa. It first made an appearance on television on July 1, 2021, and it has 12 episodes to be released every week.
Scarlet Nexus gets new episodes every week on Funimation where its premium access subscribers paying $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year could get first dibs of the episodes before being released for free. In Asia, it is licensed by Medialink and Madman Entertainment. Recently, an English dubbed cast has been revealed and the show pushed through with such a version.
Will There Be a Season 2 of Scarlet Nexus?
To date, there has been no confirmation yet from the producers or anyone related to the series as to whether there would be a Season 2 for Scarlet Nexus and it will still be reliant on the viewer reception of the show, which is doing great so far.
