Few anime series grabbed the imagination and pulled the heartstrings like Ranking of Kings. A huge success over late 2021 and early 2022, it’s unsurprising that fans are hungry for more of the fantasy anime. So, when can we expect Ranking of Kings Season 2 to be released?

Will There Be a Ranking of Kings Season 2?
While nothing has been confirmed, we will likely see Ranking of Kings Season 2. However, it might not arrive for a while yet.
The first season of Ranking of Kings was a resounding success. Even fans that pointed to the popularity of the manga and the growing prestige of Wit Studio were surprised by just how much the show grabbed viewers.
Unfortunately for fans wanting to see more of the anime, Ranking of Kings Season 1 pretty much adapted all of the manga by the time of its conclusion.
The ending of Ranking of Kings Season 1 finished adapting volume 12 of the manga, which at the time was the most recently published volume. A 13th volume has since been released in April 2022.

Ranking of Kings Season 2 Release Date Predictions
Given the speed of the manga, it’s unlikely we’ll see Ranking of Kings Season 2 until late 2023, or potentially 2024.
Ultimately, there will not be any more Ranking of Kings anime until the manga has supplied enough source material. Given the first season adapted 12 volumes, we may need 6 new volumes, and that’s just for a single-cour season.
In recent years, mangaka Sousuka Tooka has been producing the Ranking of Kings manga at a rate of three volumes per year. That speed may increase now there is more interest in the series, but even if so, it’s unlikely that there will be a dramatic change.
As a result, there probably won’t be enough content for an anime until late 2023. There may be a situation like in season 1 where an anime adaptation happens alongside the last volume’s release, but that is extremely rare.
Assuming there is a gap between the latest volume’s release and the anime adaptation, while also taking into account any other shows from the studio, and you start to see a picture where a 2024 release date is most likely.
Ranking of Kings fans should not lose hope, though! Given the show’s success, it’s unlikely that they’ll just let the show gather dust until then. There is a Ranking of Kings summer event happening in July which might provide or hint at some additional content.
For now, however, as far as the series is concerned, we’ll just have to wait patiently until more of the story is ready!
