The Paradise Season 2 finale saw Sinatra sacrificing herself to save people from an exploding nuclear reactor after giving Xavier the task of saving the world following the destruction of the underground bunker.

Despite this apparent death, the show hints that Sinatra’s passing may not be final.

“Sinatra was certain enough that she was at peace when she was walking through her crumbling bunker city. There’s just a lot more to unpack about whether that’s the reality of all of that,” executive producer John Hoberg told The Hollywood Reporter.

Sinatra’s sacrifice was intentionally crafted to give her a redemption arc after everything she had done in the past. But her passing doesn’t mean she won’t be seen in Paradise anymore, just like President Cal Bradford, who appears in flashbacks after his demise in the first season.

On the other hand, with the enormous responsibility now on his shoulders, Xavier appears torn about whether he will accept his new fate in Paradise Season 3.

“Is he going to follow through on this? What is he going to do? He’s left in that last shot being told, ‘Go save the world, Xavier.’ And he has no reason to. He’d be like, ‘Why am I doing this?’ What is going to happen? That’s the big question we want to ask,” Hoberg added.

While Hoberg tried his best not to give anything away, he did tease the central theme of the upcoming season, especially with a group of people now in the middle of Colorado, and Xavier being given the task of saving the world.

“There’s going to be questions of leadership. There’s going to be questions of faith and—do you move forward? Where do you go? And questions of, is this dangerous? Is Sinatra dangerous? Or is she actually working in our best interests?” he teased. “Now they’re out in the world, and all they know is that there’s a bunker somewhere underneath Denver. But they don’t know if that’s safe or if they even want to be there.”

He also hinted that fans may already have an idea of how Paradise Season 3 will end, potentially answering long-standing questions

“It’s something we’ve all been excited about for a very long time,” he continued. “We didn’t do exactly what you thought in Season 2, but it was what you hoped would be addressed and answered. I think Season 3 will feel the same way. It may not go where you expect, but I think it’s going to be satisfying in where it takes you.”

Paradise Season 3 is expected to be released in 2027. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
