Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery was just released on Netflix today but it already received a lot of positive reviews. The next question on people's minds is will there be a Knives Out 3 movie after this.

Will There Be a Knives Out 3 Movie?
Good news! A third Knives Out movie has been confirmed.
As a matter of fact, this was part of the deal that the streaming giant made when it bought the rights to the film franchise in 2020. The bidding war was won by Netflix for around $450 million, which promised that there will be at least two Knives Out movies.
The director of the movie, Rian Johnson, has confirmed that he is already crafting the idea for the third film. In an interview with Deadline, Johnson revealed that he plans to start writing the third installment after New Year's Eve.
"I think everybody assumed I'd have a couple other random ideas - unrelated projects - that I've been kicking around. But, honestly, over the past couple of months, the most exciting creative thing to me right now is that third movie. I think I'm going to hop right into it. Not because of a contractual obligation, but, genuinely, that's the shiny object I find my nose pointed toward right now."
The writer/director also revealed that he has "a Moleskine notebook that I carry everywhere, and I'm constantly jotting stuff down in it. Even when I'm doing all the publicity for this film, I'm trying to start building up a structure, an idea, so that after New Year, when it's time to actually get to work, I'm hopefully not just staring at that horrible blank page."
When Will Knives Out 3 Be Released?
Knives Out 3 is currently in the very early stage of development and Johnson has to write the script. But the good news is that Netflix has already inked the contract that renews the film for a third chapter.
Because of this, there's no mention of when Knives Out 3 will be coming out. If Johnson manages to finish the script right away, it's possible that Knives Out 3 could be released in the later part of 2024.
What Will Knives Out 3 Story Be About?
One thing to know about the movies under the Knives Out franchise is that they don't build up the storyline for the sequel. Knives Out follows the classic whodunit genre that is meant to make these movies standalone films, which means every movie is a new case for Benoit Blanc (played by Daniel Craig) to solve.
Who’ll Be Part of Knives Out 3 Cast?
As we saw in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film may include a cast of A-listers. Just like the sequel, only one actor returns to reprise his role in the franchise. This means that we'll get to see Daniel Craig return to reprise his role as Benoit Blanc.
We're excited to see who the new list of stars will be for Knives Out 3.
