Will Samuel L. Jackson Return as Mace Windu in New Star Wars Project?

It seems like Disney and Lucasfilm are gearing up for new projects that would bring back characters from the original and prequel trilogy films. But is it possible that we'll actually get to see Mace Windu return sometime in the future? Star Wars has teased on the possibility of Samuel L. Jackson returning as the Jedi Master.

The official Star Wars Instagram account recently posted a photo of Mace along with a cryptic caption. Check it out below.

"The party isn't over, it's just beginning! Sending a very happy birthday to Samuel L. Jackson," the caption read.

Jackson celebrated his 72nd birthday on December 21 and it's great to see that Star Wars made sure to greet him on that day. However, fans were also intrigued by the caption. After all, there have been several reports suggesting that a Mace Windu series is being developed for Disney+. But could this mean that it isn't about young Mace and is instead about how Mace survived after the events in Revenge of the Sith?

The possibility of a Mace Windu series has been suggested back in September although it wasn't one of the new shows announced during Disney Investor Day. Nevertheless, fans aren't giving up on the hope that Jackson will return as Mace one day and star in his own standalone series.
