Aside from the highly anticipated second season that’s coming soon, fans also have new Oshi no Ko chapters to look forward to. With the manga already planting seeds for its finale, some are wondering if Oshi no Ko will have a sad ending.
It’s tough to predict for now how the series will end, though we can make some educated guesses based both on what’s happening in the story so far along with the previous works of the series’ creators.

Exploring Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Previous Works
Oshi no Ko writer Aka Akasaka is best known for creating Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Before this series though, Akasaka has worked on other titles such as Ib: Instant Bullet.
Looking at the story of Kaguya-sama, that series was mostly a fun romantic comedy, though there are certain arcs with darker subject matter.
Still, the series ended on a positive note for Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane.
On the flip side, Akasaka’s other works are darker and edgier affairs. Given that Oshi no Ko’s story and themes are closer to his older work, there’s a chance that his latest series ends on a dark note as well.
As for the series’ illustrator, Mengo Yokoyari is best known for her dramatic works such as Scum’s Wish and Retort Pouch.
Many of Yokoyari’s works have ended on a bittersweet note. Fitting considering how messy (yet compelling) the relationships of the characters in her works are.

Given the tendency of both the series’ co-creators, it’s a good bet that the Oshi no Ko manga will end on a sad note, or at the very least a bittersweet one.
Oshi no Ko has never shied away from dark and controversial story developments, so it won’t be surprising if it gets a downer ending.
Of course, a bad ending will not be ideal for many readers, especially those who have grown attached to the characters. Thus, a bittersweet ending is likely going to happen.

When Will Oshi no Ko End? Possible Ending Date Predictions
There’s no word yet on an ending for the manga, but given that its creators already have a planned ending, the finale is on the horizon.
It’s also clear that the manga’s story is beyond the halfway point based on the names of the arcs. So, the manga may end in 2025 or so at the earliest.
