Will Kim Sae Ron Appear in Bloodhounds? Netflix Clarifies Report Regarding Actress’ Participation

Kim Sae Ron is reportedly making an on-screen comeback amid the DUI charges she is currently facing.

The actress, who has been heavily criticized for a drunk driving incident back in 2022, will continue her participation in Netflix’s Bloodhounds.

The upcoming series is a noir action K-drama that depicts the story of three men who get caught up in huge debt and try to escape it in any way they possibly can.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, Bloodhounds stars Woo Do Hwan, Lee Sang Yi, and veteran actors Park Sung Woong and Heo Joon Ho.

Interestingly, outlets initially confirmed that Kim Sae Ron would join as one of the main characters in the upcoming Netflix series.

Did Kim Sae Ron Step Down From Bloodhounds?

The former child star made headlines after she surprised the media and public with a scathing scandal after she got involved in a drunk driving incident that happened in Seoul.

She rammed her car into public properties, causing inconvenience to the whole neighborhood.

In addition, authorities also found out that Kim Sae Ron’s alcohol level was high, enough to get her license revoked.

The intensity of the controversy also affected her career.

As obtained by Koreaboo, she has decided to withdraw from the upcoming K-drama Trolley, where she plays one of the lead characters.

The production mentioned in a statement that they were notified regarding the actress’ decision, together with her apology.

However, following the court appearance of Kim Sae Ron, Netflix released a new statement addressing news regarding the actress’ participation in Bloodhounds.

Kim Sae Ron Remained the Lead Star of Bloodhounds

Netflix have decided to not to remove scenes featuring the scandal ridden actress.

"Kim Sae Ron will not be completely edited out," a representative mentioned, as obtained by Soompi.

However, the streaming giant chose not to disclose more updates regarding her small screen comeback amid the controversy.

"It is difficult to tell you about the details of her screen time because it’s currently under discussion," the official added.

Bloodhounds is among the upcoming K-dramas on Netflix.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, it is a noir action drama that depicts the story of three men who get caught up in an incident and find a way to get out of it.

Helmed by The Divine Fury director Jason Kim, Bloodhounds is an eight-part episode K-drama set to be released this 2023.
