With Korean dramas and movies continuing to gain popularity in the global market, Netflix maintains to deliver top-notch tv shows, series, and films for viewers to enjoy.

Interestingly, this 2023, a lot of highly anticipated K-dramas is scheduled to be released.

From rom-com, and action to the much-awaited sequels, the streaming giant is all set to premiere these K-dramas that would surely entertain global viewers.

With that said, here are the upcoming K-dramas premiere on Netflix this 2023.


Squid Game Season 2

After taking the world by storm through its craze, Squid Game Season 2 will make a bold comeback this year.

Due to the public’s demand, Netflix along with director Hwang Dong Hyuk announced the return of the blockbuster series.

According to Squid Game Season 2 director, he shared to Vanity Fair that the sequel will be released in late 2023, or at most 2024.

As for the Squid Game Season 2 cast, he previously hinted that Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun, who played the role of Seong Gi Hoon and The Frontman will appear in the sequel.

In addition, Gong Yoo’s mysterious character might show up in season 2.



Arthdal Chronicles Season 2

Despite the setback due to the global pandemic, Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 will return on tvN and Netflix this 2023.

Although Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won failed to reprise their roles due to schedule, season 2 welcomes new lead stars through Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung.

Since the team has begun filming, they are planning to release the historical fantasy series in the first half of 2023.

Doona!

From sequels, Netflix also showcases interesting original series starring South Korean top stars.

For one, the upcoming K-drama Doona!, will headline Bae Suzy as the former celebrity, who is living in the same apartment as Lee Won Joon, played by Yang Se Jong.

Park Bo Young is back on the small screen as the Hallyu star will play as the lead star in the upcoming healing drama Daily Dose of Sunshine.

Based on the webtoon, the upcoming K-drama revolves around various incidents that take place in a psychiatric ward.

Although it is adapted from a webtoon, the scenarios in the series are based on the actual real-life experiences of a psychiatric nurse.

Bloodhounds

Joining as one of the upcoming K-dramas of 2023 on Netflix is another webtoon-based series.

Bloodhounds follow the story of three friends who get caught up in a money-lending scheme to pay off their debts.

Woo Do Hwan will headline the upcoming series along with Lee sang Yi and veteran actors Park Sung Woong and Heo Joon Ho, which will air exclusively on Netflix.
