Kim Hye Soo Talks About Struggles Filming Under the Queen’s Umbrella

In a report cited by Koreaboo, Kim Hye Soo made an appearance on a YouTube channel alongside close friend and fellow actress Song Yoon Ah on her show.

Playing the role of the dotting mother to her four princes, and not to mention, doing her responsibility as the Queen, Im Hwa Ryung, the actress shared she spent much time reading and memorizing her script.

“The best part of the drama ending is knowing that I don’t have to stay up all night reading the script,” she said, adding that she felt like she has been filming the drama for years.

“I never wanted to live that long, but I feel shooting the drama has taken three years off my life. I thought, ‘I am going to die three years earlier.’”

Unfortunately, despite the gratitude for the undying support of fans and the continued recognition from the public and organizations, Kim Hye Soo says she feels the suffocating expectations of the viewers towards her.

Describing the feeling as “lonely and difficult” she revealed that it somehow pushed her to retire from showbiz.

“I thought to myself that I should quit, ‘I can’t do this anymore. This is too difficult. I’m going to quit,’” she said, however, the actress mentioned what pushed her to continue headlining K-dramas and movies and stunning everyone with her amazing skills.
