If there was one shocking thing about Dragon Ball Super: Broly, aside from the great animation and weird, yet awesome, soundtrack, it's that Gogeta lasted till the end. Unlike the few times we have seen Vegito in action, Gogeta actually gets the decisive win and isn't forced to separate into Goku and Vegeta just when the good guys get the advantage. Let's be honest, most of us were expecting Goku to go Ultra Instinct and wreck Broly but that didn't happen.
The end of Dragon Ball Super revealed that Goku can't just transform into Ultra Instinct like he does Super Saiyan. Many of us thought Goku would be put into a situation where he was weak and forced to become Ultra Instinct but that did not happen. Will it ever happen again? No one knows; not even the voice actress of Son Goku.
ComicBook.com asked Masako Nozawa if Goku would ever go Ultra Instinct again and she had this to say:
"I don't know if he'll ever get to that instinct level, but he's always training. He's constantly training. So I think there's going to be a lot more Goku to be seen because he's always training."
That's definitely a maybe and it seems like Toei Animation and Akira Toriyama are going to wait before they have Goku use this state again. Will it be against the current foe from the Super manga? Maybe even a new foe that will appear when the anime returns? It's hard to say.
