Will Arnold Schwarzenegger Appear in Wonder Woman?

There's no official announcement, but movement followed by the usually accurate Twitter spies might indicate that Arnold Schwarzenegger might make an appearance in the Wonder Woman film.

Comic Book News reports that Geoff Johns, the film's co-runner and DC Comics' most powerful creative head, has followed the once and future Terminator in Twitter. Johns' following an artist usually indicates that he or she will be invited to get involved in a DC film. The last time this happened was with director Matt Reeves who has been offered the directorial reins of Ben Affleck's Batman.

Then there is Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman, also following Schwarzenegger during the same week. Many don't think this is a coincidence.

If the predictions pan out, the hulking actor might play one of two roles: Diana Prince's father, Zeus, the king of Olympus; or Ares, the god of war and her perpetual enemy. Zeus is said to be a cameo but important role, while Ares' casting has been associated with prominent actors like Sean Bean and Danny Huston, the latter actor now included in the film.

If Schwarzenegger signs on, it'll be a return to his sword-and-sorcery roots. Long before he hit franchise gold with the Terminator saga, he played iconic comic book warrior Conan the Barbarian in the 1980s. There had been plans to make the Robert Howard classic a film series, but the dismal performance of the sequel Conan the Destroyer put an end to them.

If things work out, and the rumors are true, Schwarnegger can have his second chance. Only question is: would he play Wonder Woman's friend or foe? And will he help Wonder Woman put an end to a worldwar, or fan the flames even more?

Wonder Woman starring Gil Gadot and Chris Pine will open in theaters on June 2, 2017. Watch the international trailer below.
