Will a Heroes for Hire Series Rise From the Ashes of Iron Fist and Luke Cage Cancellations?

To the surprise of many, Marvel decided to cancel Luke Cage one week after they canceled Iron Fist. While the sudden cancellation of Iron Fist was sad, the fact that Luke Cage is getting the same fate is shocking since people liked both seasons of that show. This has made some fans wonder if the two shows cancellation wasn't an accident but was actually done to make room for a Heroes for Hire series.

Fans have wanted a Heroes for Hire series since the two fought each other on Defenders, which ended with the two eventually becoming friends. Danny Rand and Colleen Wing even appeared on a few episodes of Luke Cage season two, which resulted in even more excitement for the two getting together for a series.

While having both characters team up for a series sounds great on paper, the drastic changes both heroes have gone through might make that impossible. Rand has lost his powers and they are now with Wing now that he has decided to hone his training to become a better fighter. Luke, on the other hand, has essentially become the Harlem Kingpin of crime, with Misty Knight and Colleen Wing now considering taking him down.

While a Heroes for Hire series would be nice, it looks like Netflix will focus on a Daughters of the Dragon show first, assuming it happens. The only Marvel shows left on Netflix are Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher. There's room for more shows now and given the demand for a Daughters of the Dragon show, that might come first.

Luke Cage and Iron Fist can still be viewed on Netflix. We will have to wait a while before a Heroes for Hire show comes into fruition.
