Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 74, titled Baptism, was released on October 20, and it focused on the arrival of the powerful clairvoyant cyborg, Eida, and the beginning of Konoha's special mission to cohabitate her with Boruto and Kawaki in order to keep an eye on her. You can read the latest chapter of Boruto on Viz Media now. One of the most interesting scenes in the new chapter is how Sarada Uchiha is apparently not affected by Eida's charm when she first arrives in Konoha.

For those unfamiliar with Eida's powers, one of her most powerful abilities is the ability to instantly infatuate anyone in her presence, with the exception of blood relatives and Ohtsutsuki like Boruto and Kawaki. Anyone affected by this ability couldn't escape it, no matter the willpower. However, it seems that Sarada

On Page 22 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 74, Sarada mentions that she and Shikadai are not affected by Eida's presence, wondering if it's because they couldn't see her well or "some individual variation".

This is pretty interesting since Sarada was seen looking at Eida when she first arrived in Konoha. As she landed on the top floor of the apartment, Mitsuki and Sarada, along with Team 10, caught a glimpse of her. Chou-Chou and Inojin were notably infatuated with her, a Chou-Chou started sweating profusely. Both of them praised her for her beauty. Eida's charm also worked on Mitsuki, as he blushed after looking at her.

Another panel shows that Shikadai's vision seems to be definitely obstructed by Mitsuki when he tried to catch a glimpse. Shikadai himself mentions that he did not see anything clearly.

So, one of the biggest questions now is: "Why is Sarada not affected by Eida's power?" Let's check on some theories.

While Boruto: Naruto Next Generations hasn't fully revealed why Sarada is not affected by Eida in Chapter 74, there are already several theories that fans are discussing on social media, but since none of them are actually confirmed, note that all of these claims are speculations for now.

Direct eye contact to Eida's face or eyes is needed to get affected by her charm

According to various fan theories online, people would need to directly look at Eida's eyes or face to be affected by her charm. While Sarada is seen looking at Eida in Chapter 74, let's not forget that she's wearing eyeglasses, so her vision is not considered a direct contact.

While Shikadai was not wearing glasses, his vision was obstructed, which supports the theory that the person would need direct contact to Eida's eyes or face to get fully affected by her presence.

However, let's not forget that Amado was also wearing glasses when he was apparently affected by Eida, but knowing how sly Amado is, it's unclear if he was really affected or just pretending to be. Besides, there's also a theory that claims that Eida could be his dead daughter.

Code's army of Ten-Tails humanoid creatures might also be immune to Eida's charm because they don't have eyes, as Twitter user @AdityaCursed pointed out:

Sarada is trained to avoid getting caught by genjutsu

Eida's ability might work like genjutsu (illusionary techniques), so the possible reason that Sarada is not affected by Eida's charm is because Sasuke trained her to avoid getting caught by genjutsu.

Sarada might be affected, but her symptoms are different:

Sarada's Uchiha lineage might be the reason why she's immune to Eida's charm

It's possible that Sarada wasn't affected by Eida's ability because of her lineage to the Ohtsutsuki clan. The Uchiha clan are descendants of the Ohtsutsuki, therefore Uchihas and Ohtsutsukis share a lineage, making them family, so her abilities won't work on her.
