It then received a manhwa adaptation which is illustrated by Whale. The manhwa was first serialized in 2017 on KakaoPage in Korea. The series is published digitally in English by Tappytoon and in Japanese by Piccoma. The series is also published in print volumes by Kadokawa in Japan and Yen Press in North America.

If you’re unfamiliar, manhwa is a general term used for South Korean comics. Think of it as the Korean equivalent of Japanese manga. Over the years, several manhwas have become popular enough to receive anime adaptations.

In its story, Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion follows Eunha Park as she awakes and finds herself transported into the world of a novel. In this world, she is reborn as Raeliana McMillan, a character that’s fated to be killed by her fiancé.

To escape this fate, Raeliana gets into a fake marriage with a man named Noah Wynknight that’s more powerful than her fiance. But she finds that she might soon regret this plan.
