Sometimes, those closest are the ones who give the worst betrayals and in Manifest Season 4 Part 1, it is a shocking one because no one could have saw it coming, not even the people she worked with, Saanvi and Vance, but why did Dr. Gupta sell them to the government?
Why Did Dr. Gupta Betray Saanvi and Vance in Manifest Season 4 Part 1?
The finale of Manifest Season 4 Part 1 has revealed who the real villains are to the passengers of Flight 828: of course, there's Angelina who even got fused to the Omega Sapphire but it was a shocker because an ally turned sides -- Dr. Aria Gupta.
While doing research, Saanvi and Vance were working late at night at their secret base to try to get to the bottom of everything, however, when they heard government choppers outside, they tried to delete everything but surely, the government still got some of the files.
Saanvi, Vance, and Dr. Gupta worked on the research for years and they managed to unravel a lot of information about the truth behind Flight 828 and the passengers getting Callings.

It was revealed that Dr. Gupta decided to betray them because she believes that the problem that the passengers are in couldn't be handled anymore especially after they weren't able to keep the Omega Sapphire from Angelina who then became a supervillain with that fact.
The intervention of the government is a step backward to the whole research especially now that they may finally be near the answers they are looking for following the significant developments in Manifest Season 4 Part 1.
Still, it may not be too late for Dr. Gupta, her motive is not too evil, she still wants to help especially with the current situation that she thinks the passengers couldn't handle anymore. Should she realize the mistake she made, she could still contribute to the research in the final stretch.
