Now that the Skywalker saga has come to an end with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney has decided to explore the different stories of non-Skywalker characters on Disney+. Not only is Obi-Wan Kenobi getting his own live-action series, but so is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story fan-favorite, Captain Cassian Andor.
Now that Star Wars is open to all sorts of possibilities, Inverse pitches a great series idea – a spinoff for Count Dooku.
Introduced in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones as a replacement to Darth Maul, Dooku is an underappreciated Sith Legend who didn't get enough time in the Star Wars prequels.
Dooku was a very capable warrior who had bested Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi together without any effort. The second apprentice of Darth Sidious was a master who could battle head-to-head with Jedi Master Yoda. Starting out as a Jedi Master, Dooku fell to the Dark Side and took on the name Darth Tyranus after becoming a Dark Lord of the Sith during the waning years of the Galactic Republic.
Though Star Wars fans know how Dooku's story ends, Disney could very well produce a Young Dook series that would help explore the Sith Lord's past and help answer some of the Star Wars fanbase's questions about the character.
What was it like for Dooku to train under Yoda? Why did the Jedi Master fall to the Dark Side? Where does the name Darth Tyrannus come from?
What do you think? Does Dooku deserve a spinoff series? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
