Why Captain America Was a Hypocrite During Civil War, Fan Suggests

It's kind of amazing seeing movie characters going through multiple arcs consistently but that is the beauty of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Characters change on a consistent basis and, for the most part, they make a ton of sense. However, they can also change characters for both better and worse, which may have happened with Captain America, if you believe fans.

One fan pointed out how Steve Rogers told Nick Fury in Captain America: Winter Soldier that all of the secrets he was keeping is bad and that it might bite him back in the end, which basically happened. SHIELD ended up having to close and reform, though it hasn't canceled Agents of SHIELD for some reason. While Steve seemed like he was in the right at the time, fans are now calling him a hypocrite for not telling Tony Stark about what happened to his parents.

Here’s Cap complaining about Nick holding back secrets, bit hypocritical considering he went on to hold back the fact Bucky killed Tony’s parents from him?

During Captain America: Civil War, Tony Stark was pretty pissed off when he not only found out that a mind-controlled Bucky killed his parents but that Steve knew Hydra was responsible for their deaths. Steve didn't know that Bucky killed them but he was aware of Hydra killing the Starks during the middle of Winter Soldier.

Steve and Tony have yet to resolve their issues, with the two of them not even meeting up during Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo Brothers have promised that these two would meet during Avengers 4, where closure is pretty much guaranteed.

Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
