The vindictive Archangel Azrael forced Vaggie to work as an Exterminator or Exorcist, which she loathed.
Her life took a turn when Azrael sent her to Hell to assassinate Charlie Morningstar.
A series of chaotic events, betrayals, and disappointments led Vaggie to stay in Hell and become the best friend of Lucifer's daughter whom she was sent to kill. Eventually, the two started dating and later got engaged.
Naturally, Vaggie is supportive of Charlie's plans for Hazbin Hotel and helps her by becoming the hotel's manager.
Interestingly, for Vaggie, being in Hell was its own kind of redemption, and she would do anything to support Charlie's seemingly impossible goal.
