Israel actor Michael Aloni has joined the cast of We Were the Lucky Ones to portray Selim.
The historical TV series is based on a book of the same name by Georgia Hunter and it dramatizes the Holocaust, focusing on the Kurcs, a Polish Jewish family who were living quiet and successful lives before WWII.
Hitler's persecution of Jewish people changed the family's lives forever, with some family members fleeing Europe, while others found themselves in concentration camps.
The series focuses on their family's struggle to survive and reunite after the war.
Selim, Michael Aloni's role, is the husband of one of the Kurc children, Mila. He and his wife have a 4-month-old daughter, Felicia.
Early in the story, Selim joins the Polish Army alongside two of his brothers-in-law but goes missing soon after.
