Black Butler is back with a new season after nearly a decade, and with its premiere comes a lot of new characters. One of these is Gregory Violet, an intriguing new character in the Black Butler: Public School Arc.
While the new season has only just begun, fans are already buzzing about Violet and the rest of the Prefect Four. After all, not only are they set to have big roles in the new arc, but they also have eye-catching character designs.

New Black Butler Season Finally Introduces the Prefect Four
The Black Butler anime’s last TV anime season aired in summer 2014. Thus, many fans were excited to see Sebastian and Ciel Phantomhive finally return in the new season by CloverWorks.
Aside from these two, Black Butler: Public School Arc also introduces the Prefect Four (P4), a group of characters who will play important roles in the anime’s arc.
Each prefect is the head of a house, and they are selected based on strict criteria, including grades, character, and attitude.
The four prefects include Edgar Redmond (of the Red House), Lawrence Bluewer (of the Blue House), Herman Greenhill (of the Green House), and Gregory Violet (of the Purple House).
Essentially, these four prefects are tasked with ensuring the members of their houses follow the school rules. After all, Weston College is self-governing.

Who Is Gregory Violet in Black Butler, Explained
While all four prefects have eye-catching looks, many fans are particularly interested in Gregory Violet.
As the head of the Purple House, Violet has a violet waistcoat and a violet-lined coat. He also has a purple dahlia on his coat’s left breast pocket.
Violet appeared in the new season’s first episode, though he hasn’t played a big role yet.
In the manga though, his personality is shown to be reserved and eccentric. Violet also appears to dislike his role as the Purple House head.
In the anime, Violet is voiced by Tatsumaru Tachibana, a voice actor who is best known for roles such as Jin Mori in The God of High School and Eisaku Otomo in Ao Ashi.

How Many Episodes Will Black Butler: Public School Arc Have?
Black Butler: Public School Arc’s first episode is out now, with new episodes set to be released weekly on Crunchyroll.
Sadly, it won’t be a long series as the new season will only have 11 episodes. This makes sense considering that the Public School Arc in the manga isn’t a particularly long arc.
