The Mandalorian (2019) has so far been no stranger to characters, whether they're long-stay characters, or short-lived ones - quite literally in the case of Season 1's Kuiil, voiced by Nick Nolte.

And then there's Cara Dune (Gina Carano), a recurring character throughout the first two seasons. Unfortunately, following the firing of Gina Carano, it seems the show won't be bringing the character back.

The main characters are, of course, Din Djarin/the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, however, there are many other recurring characters in the show, such as Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris), the Armorer (Emily Swallow), Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi), and Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).

Season 2 was also host to all-new characters, particularly those brought to life in live action for the first time - Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff).

So, who's back for The Mandalorian Season 3? Who has been confirmed to be reprising their roles, and which other actors and actresses have been cast?

First of all, let's check out the teaser for The Mandalorian Season 3:

So, returning cast members are indeed Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Amy Sedaris (Peli Motto), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga), the Armorer (Emily Swallow), Omid Abtahi (Dr. Pershing), and, of course, Grogu! But also returning to the fold is Katee Sackhoff, reprising her role as Bo-Katan Kryze.

But there's no sign of Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon in the trailer, although we know he has been cast. So let's check out the brand-new official trailer:

There's still no sign of Moff Gideon in the new trailer, but it's great to see the rest of the cast return! With that said, this will, seemingly, be the first season of The Mandalorian without the character of Cara Dune, as Gina Carano was fired by Disney and Lucasfilm for controversial tweets.

It remains to be seen which other Star Wars characters will be appearing in The Mandalorian Season 3. It's unlikely that Cara Dune will ever return, but as Lucasfilm hasn't confirmed this either way, it remains a huge possibility.

Other characters like Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) may very well appear, given their involvement with Season 2. As for any other existing characters yet to be utilized in the show, whether it's the Bad Batch or someone else, we'll just have to wait and see.
