For the uninitiated, the CloverWorks original unfolds on an artificial island, known as Tokyo 24th Ward. Three friends with different backgrounds and interests used to be inseparable until the sister of one of them died tragically. The three fall apart after graduation but meet again for the memorial of the tragedy.
Soon after the reunion, the phones of all three ring simultaneously. A voice that bears an uncanny similarity to that of the very person they are mourning, presents them with an impossible moral dilemma, urging them to "choose the future."
