The Fall 2021 season of anime is coming up, and fans can't wait to see what's in store for the upcoming shows. One of the exciting shows to watch out for is takt op. Destiny, a classical music anime presented with a twist.

Takt Op. (also stylized as takt op.) is a mixed-media project between Bandai Namco Arts and DeNA. Aside from the anime, a mobile game titled Takt Op. Unmei wa Akaki Senritsu no Machi o (Takt Op. Destiny in the City of Crimson Melody) developed by Game Studio is scheduled for a 2021 release in Japan. The anime series is a collaboration between two well-known animation studios, MAPPA and Madhouse.

In the setting of the anime, the world changed after a mysterious black meteorite crashed into the planet. This meteorite created monsters which are called D2, who have banned all forms of music because it seems that this is their weakness. Some people resisted this, the Musicart — women who hold musical scores that are key to defeating these monsters. Alongside the Musicart is someone who leads them, called a Conductor.

Takt is a Conductor who works with Destiny, a Musicart who has the score of Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67." Takt wishes to bring music back to the world while Destiny aims to destroy the D2.
