It was in November 2020 when Alexander “Sandy” McKellar told Caroline Muirhead about the death of a cyclist on a dark road in the Scottish Highlands and how he and his brother, Robert, had buried the man's body.

While stunned by the confession, Muirhead later admitted that she initially felt flattered by the trust her fiancé had placed in her. However, that did not stop her from seeking the truth and helping ensure that Tony Parsons received the justice he deserved. So, where are Muirhead and Sandy now?

Sandy was first arrested alongside his twin brother, Robert, on December 30, 2020. Due to a lack of physical evidence, he was initially released. However, he was arrested again and remanded in custody on January 12, 2021, after Parsons' remains were discovered.

On August 25, 2023, McKellar was sentenced to five years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to attempting to defeat the ends of justice. Prosecutor Ruth McQuaid said at the time:

  • "These brothers failed in their attempts to obstruct and evade justice,"
  • "These were heinous and calculating crimes which brought untold distress to Mr. Parsons' wife, children, and grandchildren."

Meanwhile, Muirhead moved to the Scottish coast to start a new chapter in her life. She revealed:

  • "I've managed to get myself clean. I now see a psychiatrist."
  • "And I tackle a lot of the insecurities that led me to be in that vulnerable relationship to begin with."

She is now seeing someone new, whom she describes as "incredibly kind." "When you love yourself," Caroline continued, "you will attract healthy love."
