Billie Piper's Rose Tyler was not the first time the Doctor regenerated into a woman, but there may be a solid theory on why she was the second time. Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor was a blonde, fascinated woman who seemingly embodied some of the greatest qualities that David Tennant's Doctor had grown fond of.
While some consider Rose's return a bit of a stretch, considering the implications the series could lead to if they continue to bait fans with nostalgia (one of them being Tennant's third return to reprise his reincarnated roles), it just goes to show that Billie's character is a gem worth fighting for.
