Where to Start Reading One Piece After the Live-Action Series

Following the Arlong Park Arc, One Piece live-action viewers can read the manga series by flipping the page of Chapter 96, marking the beginning of the Loguetown Arc, which is still within the East Blue Saga of One Piece. In the anime, you can start watching Episode 45.

There were significant changes in the One Piece live-action since it’s incredibly hard to adapt a manga and anime series to live-action.

There were characters that should not have appeared in the episodes, and there were some who were missing and were given little attention.

The One Piece live-action is also fast-paced, but it does not skip the core events in the manga series.

But if you’re able to watch the anime and read the manga series from the beginning, you’ll be able to understand why the One Piece live-action has to change such things in the plot development.

For instance, Vice Admiral Garp already had a notable role in the One Piece live-action, whereas he only appeared in the anime and manga in the latter episodes and chapters of the East Blue Saga.

Which Arcs Were Covered in the One Piece Live-Action Series?

The East Blue Saga is the first story arc of the One Piece live-action. It is divided into six story arcs, namely: Romance Dawn, Orange Town, Syrup Village, Baratie, and the Arlong Park Arc.

The Romance Dawn Arc is covered in the first two episodes of the live-action series.

We see Gol D. Roger’s execution, Luffy’s bond with Shanks, the debut of the Alvida Pirates, as well as the appearance of Koby. The pirate hunter Zoro also made a shocking live-action debut that took our breaths away!

Episodes 1 and 2 of the live-action series also included the Orange Town Arc/Organ Islands Arc, where Nami finally made her appearance as the Cat Burglar looking for the map of the Grand Line.

The Orange Town Arc also gave us Buggy the Clown and his peculiar crew, holding the townspeople hostage.

Meanwhile, Episodes 3 and 4 gave us the Syrup Village Arc/Gecko Islands Arc, where Luffy, Nami, and Zoro went to get a proper ship.

They met the chronic liar Usopp and his incredibly rich friend Kaya, not to mention her suspicious butler and housekeepers.

Moving forward, Episodes 5 and 6 take us to the Baratie Arc/Sambas Region Arc, where Sanji and the former pirate Zeff made their debut.

This arc also gave us Zoro’s very first showdown with Dracule MiHawk, one of the seven warlords of the sea. Nami also betrayed the Straw Hats and ventured on her own with the map of the Grand Line.

The Arlong Park Arc and Cocoyasi Village Arc are featured in the last episode of One Piece live-action.

This is where the Arlong Pirates wreak havoc over Nami’s town and hold her hostage against her will. But thanks to Nami’s unlikely group of friends, Arlong was taken down.

A little bit of the Loguetown Arc was also shown in the live-action, wherein Shanks celebrated Luffy’s wanted poster along with his Red-Haired Crew.

What to Expect After the One Piece Live-Action Series

Following the final episode of the One Piece live-action, the Straw Hat Pirates will head to Loguetown to visit the execution place of Gold Roger and get necessary supplies and equipment before they go to the Grand Line.

Loguetown is also known as the town of the beginning and end, as it is the birthplace of Gold Roger and the town where he died.

This town is also overlooked by Marine Vice Admiral Smoker and Marine Officer Tashigi, who we all know are after the Straw Hat Pirates.

Monkey D. Dragon, Luffy’s father, also made an appearance to help Luffy flee from Smoker. The Buggy Pirates, along with Alvida, who is now a changed woman, also managed to escape from Smoker’s grasp.

At this point, the Straw Hat sets sail for the Grand Line, and the Arabasta Saga begins.

We’re assuming that the Warship Island in the anime will be omitted from the series if One Piece Live-Action Season 2 happens in the future.
