When the Young Justice Showrunners Were Told About Series' Revival

Fans were elated when Young Justice: Outsiders was finally announced. Many felt that the series wasn't given a fair shake when it was canceled after season two, which ended on a cliffhanger, so seeing the series get revived years after is wonderful. While the fans felt great, we can only imagine how the show's creators must have felt when they heard the news.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, showrunner Greg Weisman revealed when he found out about the series' comeback. Many assumed he would be told in advance and they're right; it's just that he wasn't told as early as many have assumed. Weisman said that he was told 10 days before the official announcement was made.

"Ten days before the announcement. They talked to us about it being a maybe, but we didn't know for sure until ten days before. We were ready-ish. You can't be completely ready for a project of this scale, but we had been talking about it."

To be fair, Weisman did say that he was told maybe a number of times in regards to the series coming back but when it came to the official announcement, he was only told 10 days before everyone else. Thankfully, Weisman has had plenty of time to work on a story since then, though we can assume some of these plans were already made before the second season's end.

Young Justice: Outsiders is expected to debut in 2019 on the upcoming DC Universe streaming service. Fans can check out the first two seasons on Netflix.
