Ragnarok fans, we have good and bad news for you. The good news is, Ragnarok has been renewed for a third season. The bad news is, Ragnarok Season 3 will be the final season.

It seems like Netflix has been hooked on the fantasy adventure as it confirmed renewing the show for a third season.

But when is Ragnarok Season 3 coming out on Netflix? We give you the details here.

Potential Ragnarok Season 3 Release Date

As announced on Ragnarok's official Instagram account, the show has been commissioned for a third season. And as of this writing, the show is still in production. That means, we're still waiting for an official announcement on its release date straight from Netflix.

When the show was renewed, the cast reportedly turned to YouTube to share the big news: "Hey beautiful people, I have some good news. You ready? We have been confirmed for season three."

Jonas Strand Gravli, who plays Laurits in the show, also said "This third season will be the last season."

We can't expect new episodes of Ragnarok Season 3 to be available soon since production only got started. Hopefully, there won't be any delays like what Season 2 experienced. Ragnarok Season 1 launched in January 2020 and was succeeded after almost 18 months. Part of the reason for the long wait was due to COVID-19-related restrictions. And now that some of these restrictions have been loosened, we can expect filming to wrap up sooner than the second season.

Unfortunately, Ragnarok Season 3 will likely have six episodes once again. This is in line with the two previous seasons of the show.

  • Jonas Strand Gravli (as Laurits Seier)
  • Herman Tømmeraas (as Fjor)
  • Theresa Frostad Eggesbø (as Saxa)

Netflix has not yet shared the official plot details for Ragnarok Season 3. But considering this is the final season, we can expect it to be packed with more action than the preceding seasons.

In Ragnarok Season 2, we basically saw Saxa (played by Theresa Frostad Eggesbø) switch to Magne (played by David Stakston) instead of the Jutul. But then again, we saw Laurits (played by Jonas Strand Gravli) toying with the dark side in the last season too.

After feeling betrayed by Magne, Laurits releases the Jörmungandr, a Thor-killing serpent. And now that the Jutul family is behind him, we will definitely see a more intense battle between the brothers in the third season.

We can't help but look forward to seeing the other gods who will be helping Magne in season 3.

Since production for Ragnarok Season 3 is still ongoing, there's no trailer or teaser available yet. But if the show will be released in early 2023, it's possible that a trailer will be released real soon.

We'll be sure to keep a close eye on that!
