In a nutshell, Blonde is a biopic of the life of Marilyn Monroe. It is based on Joyce Carol Oates' bestselling novel of the same title. Although it clearly depicts Marilyn Monroe as the main character in the novel, it is a re-imagination of her life.

The film gives a glimpse of her young life as Norma Jeane and her rise to stardom. Not to mention, Marilyn's romantic life is also depicted in the film.

Again, this is an explicitly fictionalized take on Marilyn Monroe's life back in the 50s and 60s.
