The When Calls the Heart Season 9 finale is only a few days away. The Hallmark Channel has revealed photographs from the forthcoming episode, and they hint at what Elizabeth, Lucas, and the rest of Hope Valley's residents can expect.
Hickam’s future as mayor in When Calls the Heart Season 9 finale
Early in Season 9, Mike Hickam (Ben Rosenbaum) surprised everyone by winning the mayoral election in Hope Valley. But he's had trouble adjusting to his new role.
He even admitted to Bill (Jack Wagner) recently that he was considering resigning. Mike took some time away to think about his future after Bill persuaded him to rethink. In the May 15 episode, he reappeared.
His destiny is unknown, but a photo from the When Calls the Heart Season 9 finale shows him happily posing with Fiona (Kayla Wallace) in front of a building with a sign that reads Mayor's Office. Hopefully, this implies Mike has decided to persevere.

Rosemary and Lee’s big news
In the May 8 episode of When Calls the Heart, Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) discovered she might be pregnant. So far, she has kept that information hidden from Lee (Kavan Smith). She wants to make sure she's having a baby before telling anyone.
However, based on the episode title and Hallmark's description, it appears that Dr. Faith's (Andrea Brooks) fears about Rosemary's pregnancy are correct.
The episode is titled Rock, a Bye, Baby, and according to the description, Rosemary and Lee "receive some news," which could hint at her pregnancy. It could possibly be a reference to Gilchrist's offer to hire Lee as a columnist for the Hearst newspaper chain, which would compel the couple to leave Hope Valley.
Faith and Bill
Faith has been warning Bill throughout the season that he has to take better care of his health. A shot from the When Calls the Heart Season 9 finale shows the two at his office. She’s holding her stethoscope and touching his arm.
Are we finally going to get some answers concerning what's causing Bill's persistent cough? And will he eventually admit that he needs treatment – and that X-ray – to get better? Keep your fingers crossed. Bill cannot be replaced in Hope Valley.
An impending disaster?
A photo of Mike and Fiona could reveal more about the When Calls the Heart Season 9 finale. A fire truck is parked in front of the mayor's office. Fans will recall that a Season 9 teaser hinted that a fire might erupt in Hope Valley. The fire hasn't yet occurred, therefore, chances are it will in the finale.
Another photo from Episode 12 shows a soot-covered Lucas (Chris McNally) smiling at Elizabeth (Erin Krakow), implying that he is helping to put out the fire.
The When Calls the Heart Season 9 finale airs Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel.
