There's no question that Netflix has a vast slate of movie and series titles coming from South Korea. But it looks like the streaming platform is expanding its content library after seeing the potential of original content coming from Thailand.
Back in October 2022, Netflix announced that it will be adding six upcoming originals from Thailand. And recently, the streaming service released the first images and a trailer of one of those movies entitled Hunger.
The movie follows the footsteps of the thriller, The Menu, which gives us a glimpse into the lives of the people who prepare our culinary desires. But it is in no way related to the dark comedy.

Thai Drama Hunger Release Date
There is no exact date mentioned of Hunger's release. But the trailer reveals that the film will be released this April. We'll update this post once more information becomes available.

What Is Thai Drama Hunger Movie About?
Directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri with a script written by Kongdej Jaturanrasmee, the official synopsis of Hunger reads:
"Aoy, a woman in her twenties, runs her family’s local stir-fried noodles restaurant in the old quarter of Bangkok. One day, she receives an invitation to leave the family business and join team ‘Hunger’, Thailand’s number one luxury Chef’s table team led by the famously ingenious, and infamously nasty, Chef Paul."
Who Stars in Thai Film Hunger?
Hunger is an original Thai film directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri, who also directed Girl From Nowhere. It stars the following actors:
- Chutimon "Aokbab" Chuengcharoensukying (as Aoy)
- Gunn Svasti Na Ayudhya
- Nopachai "Peter" Jayanama (as Chef Paul)
Is There a Trailer of the Thai Film, Hunger?
Yes, Netflix released the trailer of Hunger a few days ago.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of how intense the world of fine-dining is and the demands for perfection on a stiff time limit. But once you overcome the challenges of being a newbie in the culinary industry, you'll be able to find favor in the appreciative diners. Or you give up halfway and succumb to the inner demons you never thought existed in you.
And through the trailer of Hunger, we see Aoy being pushed to the limit by the Chef de Cuisine. How will she emerge? We don't know yet.
