What If Tobey Maguire was Spider-Man for the MCU?

A lot of people agree that Tom Holland is the most faithful representation of Spider-Man onscreen, but Tobey Maguire still remains to be the first modern iteration of Spider-Man in cinema. Some fans actually still insist that he is the best version of the character, and some fan art imagines Infinity War if Maguire's Spider-Man was in the MCU.

Though it's intriguing to think about where Maguire's Spider-Man would be in the modern day, I think his dynamic with the rest of the Avengers would be completely different. Unlike Holland's Peter Parker, Maguire's is a full adult, and he probably doesn't need Tony Stark looking down on him the entire time.

With the introduction of multi-verses in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, I'm wondering if Sony is planning on some kind of crossover somewhere down the line. Even just a cameo of Maguire with Holland and Andrew Garfield would be a cinematic treat for me.

Maguire may be out of the webslinging game nowadays, but you can catch Tom Holland's Peter Parker in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel which comes out July 5, 2019.
