What If...? is genuinely one of Marvel Studios' best creations and with its brilliant concept and stunning visuals, it doesn't come as a surprise how the show became a hit amongst fans, even spawning a second season this early. However, some fans have a few gripes about the series and it has something to do with the fact that not every MCU actor was able to reprise their respective roles for the project.

One of which is Spider-Man actor Tom Holland who didn't lend his voice as the multiversal counterpart of the web-slinger on the latest episode of the series which revolved around Zombie Hunter Spider-Man trying to stop the zombified versions of beloved members of the Avengers.

In case you were wondering, actor Hudson Thames temporarily took over the role for Holland in the said episode and it's safe to say that most fans were pretty satisfied with his performance, even giving him their seal of approval. Thames isn't exactly a relative newcomer in the scene but What If...? is undoubtedly his biggest acting gig to date.

It's a huge bummer that Tom wasn't able to appear in the show but the creators of What If...? believe that the entire Spidey deal with Sony actually prevented him from reprising his role in animated form. Still, there's hope for Holland to appear in Season 2 as long as Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures agree on extending their partnership. But even if that doesn't happen, I wouldn't mind seeing Hudson return for future episodes because he did a pretty good job as Spidey.

What If...? is already streaming on Disney+.
