After Thursday's episode of Wheel of Fortune, avid viewers turned to social media to talk about the recent episode.

This led viewers to ask what happened on Wheel of Fortune. Well, on the February 8 episode, ABC interrupted the game show at the worst possible time.

During this episode, a contestant (named Kiera) was trying her luck in a bonus puzzle. She had previously faced off against two other contestants, Lewis and Brianna. So far, she already racked up a total of $46,250 when she landed on a wildcard wedge.

The timer gave her 10 seconds to answer the bonus puzzle. Kiera chose the category "What are you wearing?" and gave the extra letters D-C-H-A-M on top of the provided R-S-T-L-N-E letters.

On her first try, Kiera guessed "fleece cardigan." After that, the broadcast was cut to an ABC News report with David Muir talking about a special report delivered by President Joe Biden.

This angered some fans as they felt like it was a "make-or-break" moment for the contestant.

Needless to say, Kiera missed out on the $40,000 pot money since she failed to answer "Beige Cardigan." But she returned in the final round the next day.

Not the Only Controversy

Last week's episode was not the only controversy that Wheel of Fortune faced. On February 2, the game show faced backlash from fans who claimed a contestant correctly guessed the bonus puzzle.

They were referring to the January 30 episode when Megan Carvale picked "Living Thing" as her category. She was asked to fill in the blanks of: "P_N_ _RC_D" but failed to properly guess it.

Shortly after this, a clip of the episode made the rounds on social media with some viewers claiming they heard Carvale say "Pink Orchid."

Thankfully, Carvale appeared on Good Morning America to discuss the controversy with Michael Strahan. Carvale said:

"I wish I said 'pink' because I'd be $40,000 richer, but I said, 'something.'"

She also shared:

"My son [said] the whole way home... 'Mom, I can't believe you didn't get pink.' The word has already been haunting me, and now all of America believes that I said it."

Meanwhile, a fan went on X to point out his observation:
