What Does Spider-Man: Far From Home Mean? Kevin Feige Says it Has Multiple Meanings

Spider-Man might have crumbled into dust at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War but that didn't stop Tom Holland from revealing the wall-crawlers next movie; Spider-Man: Far From Home. When the actor revealed this title on Instagram fans wondered what it could mean, with many assuming that the character could still be in space at the end of Avengers 4.

MCU head Kevin Feige says it's not that simple and has stated that the title actually has a number of meanings to interpret; much like Homecoming did.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Feige says that the speculation for this title can begin and he will have fun seeing what the fans have to discuss. Feige said it's obviously tied into the last movie's title - Homecoming - but it can also have a number of other meanings, especially after Avengers 4.

"Well, I mean, sure, let the speculation begin. That's always fun. We like [the title] of course because it ties into Homecoming, not just keeping that word going, which we like and we liked it more than Homecoming 2, but that notion of 'home' is a word that has dual meanings we'd like to continue with this [Marvel Cinematic Universe] version of Spider-Man. So, Far From Home has multiple meanings."

When the first MCU Spidey film was announced as Spider-Man: Homecoming, many thought that was the title because it would mark the character's "return" to its creators in Marvel Studios. It did end up having several meanings, including how the final battle took place in the Spidey's homecoming dance and how the character was able to find his footing whilst not being tied to Iron Man or the Avengers.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be set in London, which is another reason why the film's title was chosen. It could also mean that the hero will be out of his depth and must plan for the changes that will be made in his life. Only time will tell but it will be fun to see happen. Filming starts in July.
