For Valentine's Day this year, Netflix released its latest reality dating show entitled Perfect Match. It's basically a mishmash of contenders from its other reality shows, including Love Is Blind, Selling Tampa, The Circle, The Circle France, The Ultimatum, Sexy Beasts, Too Hot to Handle, Twentysomethings, and The Mole.
After its February 14 launch, the show had a total of 12 episodes, with the last one getting released this week. And then, of course, the winner of the show has been revealed. This leads us to wonder what do the winners of Perfect Match actually win-- aside from a second shot at love?
Here's what we know about the show's grand prize.
Who Won Perfect Match?
Throughout the whole season of Perfect Match, we saw the hopeful candidates go on dates and opening up to other individuals in the show. And this also means they got to have their hearts broken in the process. But amidst all of those connections, they manage to find real ones.
In the last four episodes of the show, things got extra spicy as some previously eliminated houseguests returned. There were also some partner swaps and lots of drama along the way.
Through it all, however, one couple managed to win Perfect Match Season 1. All the contestants, including those who were previously eliminated, had a chance to vote and choose the deserving couple to win the show.
At the season finale, only four couples were left:
- Izzy Fairthorne and Bartise Bowden
- LC Chamblin and Nick Uhlenhuth
- Chloe Veitch and Shayne Jansen
- Georgia Hassarati and Dom Gabriel
Majority of the votes went to Georgia and Dom, and they were declared the winners of Perfect Match Season 1. But there are some who don't agree that the two were a good match. One of those who was very vocal about the pairing was Chase DeMoor, who believes Dom switched up from Francesca Farago right away. Thus, Chase doesn't believe the connection between Dom and Georgia was real.
Are There Any Perfect Match Couples Who Are Still Together Today?
Unfortunately, the pairing between Dom and Georgia was evident in real life. Georgia has gotten back with her ex-boyfriend, Harry Jowsey. Meanwhile, Francesca is already in a serious relationship with Jesse Sullivan, a TikTok star.
On the plus side, there is one couple who did get engaged after the show ended-- Joey Sasso and Kariselle Snow are now engaged even though they didn't win in Perfect Match. Unfortunately, the engagement was short-lived as the two faced insurmountable challenges. They decided to "step away from each other" right now.
What Do the Winners of Perfect Match Win?
So what do the winners of Perfect Match win? Well, compared to other dating shows, they don't exactly get a cash prize. Instead, the winning couple got to spend a one-week vacation to wherever they want to go with all expenses paid.
Will There Be a Perfect Match Season 2?
As of this writing, Netflix has not yet announced a decision on the fate of Perfect Match Season 2. We're still waiting to know if the streaming service will renew the reality dating show for another season. But considering reality programming is relatively cheaper to film compared to TV series, it's possible that Perfect Match will get the green light for a succeeding season.
If the show does return, it's likely that the second season will follow the first season's release date, which was on February 14, 2023. This means we'll have to wait a full year for Perfect Match Season 2 to get released.
