Westworld 3 Officially Coming Out in 2020

With Game of Thrones finally ending this year, HBO is looking at other shows to be its tentpole. Admittedly Westworld hasn't had the same pop culture effect as GoT, but it's probably the best contender for their next masthead series, considering the overall quality when it comes to production and writing. The series usually takes breaks in between seasons, and now we just confirmed when we should expect Westworld 3 to drop.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third season of Westworld is set to come out in 2020. This would mean that the show had taken a year off to release a season, pretty much the same thing that happened last year. We don't really have specific reasons as to why, but judging by the meticulous writing and extensive special effects, I would say they needed the time to polish everything up.

I mean, it's exactly the same thing Game of Thrones did with the eighth season—except that Westworld did it first.

For now, we don't have an official synopsis on what to expect with Westworld 3. We do know that each season has significantly expanded on the world, giving us expansions like Shogun World and The Raj. With the finale, we're given the teaser that Dolores has finally made it outside of the park, and it's likely she's going to continue her plight on humanity from there.

As for other characters, I guess Bernard has been reluctantly dragged alongside Dolores, and we're now in the black on whether William is alive or not.

No specific release date has been announced, but we should expect Westworld 3 to hit HBO sometime in 2020.
