West World And Game Of Thrones Are Skipping This Year’s SDCC

It looks like fans of Game of Thrones and Westworld aren't getting any new info about their favorite television shows at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International.

According to Deadline, HBO just recently made the last-minute announcement today that its two most-popular television series are skipping out on this year's SDCC. Not because the network wanted to keep the announcements for another special occasion, no. Instead, Game of Thrones and Westworld were both forced to skip SDCC 2018 because of conflicts in schedules and airdates.

"Due to production schedules and air dates for Game of Thrones and Westworld, these series will not be presented at San Diego Comic-Con this summer," the premium network's representatives explained. "HBO has a longstanding relationship with SDCC, and we are very grateful for the fans' enthusiastic response over the years. We look forward to returning in the future."

Last year, Game of Thrones SDCC panel had stars like Sophie Turner, Liam Cunningham and Gwendoline Christie, all come together to meet fans. Westworld's panel had Jeffrey Wright, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, and Jimmi Simpson.

It looks like things are going to be pretty quiet this year, especially for Game of Thrones which is scheduled to drop its eighth and final season on HBO sometime next year. Fans have been itching for new info regarding the phenomenal fantasy epic, but it looks like everyone's going to have to wait a bit longer. Perhaps the series trailer isn't ready yet. Let's just hold on and wait and see.

Westworld Season 2 airs every Sunday at 9 pm on HBO. Game of Thrones Season 8 is scheduled to premiere on the cable network sometime in 2019.
