Wesley Snipes Responds to The MCU's Blade Reboot

When Kevin Feige announced that Marvel Studios is working on a Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali, fans were both happy and sad. Happy, because Ali is a talented actor and it's great seeing Marvel focus on Blade again. Sad, because fans are wondering why they didn't decide to recast Wesley Snipes, who has been open to a new Blade movie for years.

It's been a few days but original Blade star Wesley Snipes has released a statement over the news. Weirdly enough, he did this through ComicBook.com instead of Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram but hey, the world works in mysterious ways.

Anyway, here is what the former vampire hunter (too soon?) had to say about being replaced:

"To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it's ALL good. Such is the ‘business' of ‘entertainment!' Much peace to the MCU crew - always a fan. Honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come. Inshallah, we will someday work together. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘nah fret nah worry, it's not de end of de story.' Welcome to the Daywalker Klique."

Snipes seems to be taking the humble route, which is always nice to see. The fact that he is an MCU fan should please everyone and offering support to Ali is really cool. Seeing the actor act this professional and polite is great so here is hoping more of that support comes when the first trailer is eventually released.

Blade doesn't have a release date yet and could be a phase five Marvel film.
