Wesley Snipes' Blade Unofficially Joins Other Cinematic Vampires In What We Do In The Shadows

If you still haven't started watching FX's What We Do In The Shadows series, now might be the best time to start catching up. The latest episode of the vampire comedy pulled out all the stops and brought in some of the best bloodsuckers in cinematic history for an amazing star-studded hour. This includes Wesley Snipes' Blade, who may or may not be a real member of the Vampire Council. SPOILERS AHEAD SO PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

In The Trial, an international vampire council convened at Staten Island after the death of Baron Afanas. The meeting was truly a big deal since it was led by Only Lovers Left Alive's Eve (Tilda Swinton) and attended by True Blood's Sophie-Ann (Evan Rachel Wood), From Dusk Till Dawn's Razor Charlie (Danny Trejo), and Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Amilyn (Paul Reubens). Even Dave Bautista made an appearance as Garrett, a vampire who was framed by Lazlo in the past.

Got all those stars so far? It gets even better. Wesley Snipes also has a Skype cameo as a vampire named Wesley, who is exasperatedly referred to as "vampire killer," "half vampire," and, wait for it, a "daywalker." Unfortunately, "Wesley" couldn't stay too long because his WiFi was spotty.

Of course, a star-studded episode wouldn't be complete without the guys who got the series started in the first place. The original film's Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, and Jonathan Brugg all showed up as Viago, Vladislav, and Deacon as well.

There could have been more vampires in The Trial but "Kiefer" (as in Kiefer Sutherland from The Lost Boys), "Rob" (Robert Pattinson from the Twilight movies), and "Tom and Brad" (Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt from Interview with the Vampire) were not available. Which is fine, we're quite happy with what we saw this week. Needless to say, we're hoping that the awesome episode will lead to more people watching this delightful series.

What We Do In The Shadows airs on FX every Wednesday night.
